Freeland Returns as Rockies Adjust Roster | Colorado Rockies News

Kyle Freeland is back on the active roster after a neck injury sidelined him since August 24th, set to start tonight’s game against the Padres and likely get a few more starts before the season ends. To make room, Blas Castaño has been sent down to Triple-A Albuquerque after five appearances with the Rockies. Position players Braxton Fulford has been recalled while Vimael Machín was optioned out after a brief stint. Fulford, who hit some homers in the minors, hasn’t been effective enough in 43 MLB games this year. Freeland’s return brings much-needed pitching depth as the Rockies wrap up their season.
