Freewill/Karma and the Pathway System

from Modern Animism, A Very Convoluted Guide Hosted by Sarah-Jayne Black

Freewill is the belief in an internal decision-making process, used in the Abrahamic religions to help you to make moral choices. Karma disputes Freewill by claiming that instead of our being capable of utilizing Freewill, a lot of our activity is predetermined by outside influences, most noticeably the life we lived prior to our former deaths. Animism frequently falls into the Karma system, since many believe that consciousnesses we perceive to exist inside physical objects may have been human in the past. But this isn't a blanket-cover-all belief across all Animism, and so we introduce the Pathway system. (Incidentally, less dependence upon freewill allows us to live in the moment and be spontaneous, key attributes for an Animist.)
