Freight and trade hampered by Middle East conflict, as crucial shipping routes close

The conflict in the Middle East is already having a direct effect on the freight and shipping industries.  Emergency conflict and wartime surcharges have already been applied, with some companies charging between two and four thousand dollars in extra fees.  The Strait of Hormuz has been closed.
