from Radioactive Show · host Presenters: Emily & Bilbo and Nancy Atkin.

As we approach the 80th anniversary of the first of around 300 nuclear explosions imposed on the Pacific by colonial powers, and mark the 60th anniversary of the French nuclear testing in the Pacific, we dip into the archives and bring you a show that first aired in 2006 and was presented by Bilbo and Emily with guest presenter Nancy Atkin for the 40th anniversary of French nuclear testing. The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons has organised a Pacific Peace Pilgrimage that will shine a light on the history and intergenerational impacts of nuclear ‘testing’ in the Pacific region, including here in Australia.  ICAN Australia is working with The Quakers and the Pacific Conference of Churches to welcome nuclear-impacted communities from the Pacific and Australia for a series of events which will highlight pathways towards nuclear justice in the region and call for a future that is decolonised, demilitarised, denuclearised and decarbonised. Join ICANW to commemorate these significant anniversaries with a candlelight vigil, led in prayer and reflection.July 1: Morning Vigil, Parliament Lawns, Ngunnawal & Ngambri Country / CanberraJuly 2: Public Event: Quaker Centre, Ngunnawal & Ngambri Country / CanberraJuly 3: Public Event, Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, Gadigal Country / SydneyJuly 3: Public Event, Balam Balam Place, Wurundjeri Country / Melbourne
