In the UK, we are very lucky to have access to insulin without really any restrictions whatsoever. However in other countries, particularly the United States, insulin is barely affordable and it is costing not only thousands of dollars, but millions of lives every year due to its inaccessibility. It's been 100 years since insulin was first discovered as a treatment for diabetes, but how far have we really come?
