Fresh Outta Beta, Ep 5: 41 years of living with diabetes

from Fresh Outta Beta · host Quin

Diabetes is life long, and there is an assumption that people who have lived with it for many years are used to it and that it doesn’t phase them. But the reality is, that is not the case at all. In this episode, Charlie sits down with her dad, Papa Granby, aka John, to talk to him about his 41 year journey with diabetes. They discuss his feelings/processes, how he navigated his teenage years living with a chronic illness that at the time, was managed very differently to how we manage diabetes these days; glass syringes and no such thing as carb counting?! If you want to carry on the conversation, find us on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and even Tiktok, @quindiabetesapp. Thanks for listening, see you next week for our final episode, as Charlie answers a variety of topic questions asked by Vanessa!
