TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. There is never a genuine love relationship that doesn't involve sacrifices mutually and willingly undertaken by the parties in love. In fact, this life of mutual and willing sacrifice undertaken by the parties concerned lasts as long as the genuine love relationship remains. Similarly, taking up our cross daily and following Jesus Christ simply implies constantly and persistently remaining in a genuine and lasting love relationship with Jesus Christ while carrying out all the sacrifices we must make as we journey with Him in the love affair as He never fails to sacrifice himself daily out of love for us.
