Friday Family Film Night: MIRROR MIRROR review

In which the Mister joins me in reviewing MIRROR MIRROR (2012), from director Tarsem Singh's fantasy adventure from a screen story by Melisa Wallack and screenplay credits to Marc Klein and Jason Keller. A vain and ruthless evil queen (Julia Roberts) rules over a once-prosperous kingdom, keeping her beautiful stepdaughter, Snow White (Lily Collins), locked away in the palace while bleeding the citizenry dry with exorbitant taxes. When Snow White finally escapes into the enchanted forest and crosses paths with a band of resourceful, highway-robbing outlaws—referred to locally as dwarfs—she learns to fight back and begins rallying the oppressed kingdom to reclaim her birthright. As the queen attempts to secure her power and win the affections of a visiting prince (Armie Hammer) through dark magic and deception, Snow White must lead her newfound companions to overthrow the tyranny and restore light to the land.
