The call came in early 7:16 AM, rollover north of Mitchell, 20 miles north on Highway 29. Vehicle is on its top. Earlier in the day, 3:47 AM, Trooper 321 was out doing some 10-6 testing after stopping a truck and trailer west of Hwy 385. The testing was for 10-47 (DUI) and also a firearm check was run on a 9mm. That came up clear, but the testing did not. One male arrested for drunk driving. We had a possible assault in southeast Scottsbluff yesterday involving a 35-year-old female. That was the initial scanner call that we heard over scanner traffic. People close to the case said that the female was known and was actually arrested for aggravated assault that evening. The assault was reportedly on a male. At 3:36 PM, a report came in from the north side of Highway 20, mile marker 64 in Dawes County. Donkeys out. We've had several different types of livestock and wildlife spotted on the highways, but I think this is the first call for donkeys out. Trooper 483 immediately responded and was 10-77 or unable to locate the animals all the way from Shadrin to mile marker 58. They must have high-tailed it back to their place before the trooper was able to get there. They were probably listening to the scanner. And you can too!
