Friday of the 15th Week of Ordinary Time

Today's readings explore what it means to bring our deepest needs honestly before God. In the first reading, a dying king cries out to God in raw, tearful prayer and receives a surprising answer. The Gospel then raises a quieter but equally urgent question: what does God actually want from us when we come to him?
