This week, we pull double duty and review both Tom McLoughlin's, Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986), AND Denis Villeneuve's, Dune: Part Two (2024)! The sixth entry in the classic slasher franchise, Tom McLoughlin's, Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986) represents a major transition point in the series. Featuring the return of Jason Voorhees (after his disappointing absence in Part V), the introduction of supernatural elements to the Voorhees lore, and a campier, more playful tone, Part VI is often regarded as one of the more creative and memorable sequels in the franchise. Denis Villeneuve's, Dune: Part Two (2024) is the epic sequel to the director's previous Dune: Part One (2021), with both films comprising the events of Frank Herbert's legendary sci-fi novel.
