Friends and Basketball

Biewen picks up where he left off in St. Louis, but he’s left the baseball field for a high school basketball court.  He explores questions of race and racism among members of a racially-mixed girl’s basketball team (a rarity in highly-segregated St. Louis).  It is now a few weeks after protests erupted over the non-indictment of Darren Wilson and the team has different views on the news, the reaction, and the reality of the experience for people in St. Louis.  But while this is at the center of the conversation in St. Louis, it remains undiscussed among the teammates.  Should it be?  Would it create conflict?  And how can it help or hurt bonds between teammates?
