Friends: Shallow or Deep?

Yes!  Friends.  Some say friends are the family that you choose.  Truth, most friends are shallow.  An elite few are special, in other words DEEP, you can discuss anything.  They know your good, bad and ugly.  Maybe some of you need more of those friends/brother or sisterhood, here is your 'Play of the Day'.Word!  So good.  Special thanks to the Southside Rabbi for the inspiration.  If dug that 'Play of the Day', you can find more of them at the 'Southside Rabbi'.  That particular episode was "Friendship and Intimacy", Season 1, Episode 8, published on the 26th of November, 2019.So, looking in the mirror.  How are your friendships?  Do they know you're good, bad and ugly side?  Do they know your struggles?  Do you know theirs?  Or are you on that fake Love Boat riding on shallow.  Are you getting your fulfillment from Fakebook or Instabrag or sincere, looking each other in the eyes, intimate relationships.  And as Casey astutely pointed out, not sexually intimate.  Soul intimate.  To be blunt, I am done with conversations such as "My marriage is in trouble, we are getting divorced."  What?!  I had no idea.  You never said anything.  You two alway put up a front that all was 'good' or 'fine'.  WTF?Get Real and Pursue Truth.  If don't have that group, put one together.  Hit us up at FriDudes.com.Lastly, if you have the friends that you love and just want deeper and not sure how to go about it.  Here's my tip.  Be real.  Tell them how much they mean to you.  If they are not into Jesus yet, simply meet them where they are at.  Then tell them, "I'm nervous to share this.  I care about you.  I don't want shallow friendships.  I want to be real.  And I want you to be comfortable to trust me with your real.  I know you doubt this God stuff.  Just know, if heaven is real, I don't just want to be friends on this broken planet.  I would love to be friends for eternity.  That is how important you are to me.If they rebuff you, they are not a true/deep friend.  I'm sorry.  It's true.  Doesn't mean you give up on them.  Just means they are not ready for Deep and real.  So, you keep going and praying for who they are.  Got it?  Get it?  Good!Ending on a song note, Jonathan Traylor cracking the FriDudes playlist.  "I Trust You".  A great song especially when life isn't going according to your plan.  When you have the Oh Snap moment that you need to trust God with his plan despite the brutal and/or frustration.  Taking it one step further, you need friends you can trust.  Ones that you can go deep and be not afraid they will talk behind your backs.  So ponder that and give some love to Jonathan Traylor and add this to your I need to trust more 'PlayList", now go, find those selected few you can trust, confess, live life, get DEEPer...
