From a Lemonade Stand Led to Financial Freedom | Edward Collins

from 511 Media Group · host Mike Harvey

Join Mike Harvey and Tom Touchstone as they welcome their friend Edward Collins to this episode of Lunch Break. Edward is an attorney and financial services expert. He shares his backstory, including what his business is. He started his entrepreneurial journey at a young age. As a seven year old, he saw a commercial for a toy he wanted and asked his mom if he could get it. His mom told him if he wanted it, he would have to figure out a way to get it himself. Growing up, Ed's family struggled to make it to the poverty line, so any time he asked his mother for something, the answer was always "we can't afford it." This instilled in Ed a lack of abundance mentality, which he has since worked to challenge and overcome. That's when Edward decided to open a lemonade stand to make money. He invested the money he made in a local candy store and recruited his friends to help him run multiple lemonade stands in his neighborhood. This experience opened his eyes to the power of money, and he learned that if you create value, money will follow. In this episode, they talk about the idea of financial freedom and how to achieve it. Edward states that in his opinion, the journey of true financial freedom is found in wealth creation, which he believes is best achieved through real estate and business. He concludes that if you want to fight for true freedom, you should fight for financial freedom, and business ownership is the most effective way to get there. We hope you learn as much from Edward as we did. Enjoy!
