KEY TAKEAWAYS   Deborah and Dawn both worked as flight attendants for Airlines in the 1980s. They both learnt how to deal with frightening emergencies and how to remain calm under immense pressure. Following some work modelling in Japan, Deborah decided that on her return to the U.S. she wanted to work in commercials, and this is exactly what she did. She recognized this as a pivotal moment in her life. After having a successful career in commercials, print and some bit parts, Deborah was given an opportunity to have a lead role, but she needed to take some acting classes to be hired. Deborah met her husband and got married in 92’, she had her first child in 93’ and her final acting role was in 98’. She was in a new era of her life. Deborah struggled with alcoholism most of her life, she now recognizes that this was part of the generational trauma that she was carrying. After the breakdown of her marriage, Deborah fell deeper into her addiction and even contemplated suicide. She entered rehab and managed to stay sober for a while but after getting a new job she convinced herself that she wasn’t an alcoholic and she began drinking again. To most, things looked great for Deborah. But she was miserable, she was just good at putting on a mask. If you aren’t living your authentic self, then regardless of money or status you have nothing. Deborah discovered she needed to tackle her issues and trauma head on, it was only this that allowed her to heal, from her trauma, suffering and addiction. She now helps others do the same.
