Growing up on her family's ranch near Calgary, she was influenced by country artists such as George Strait, The Dixie Chicks, and Alan Jackson.In 2014, Sykamore won the ATB All-Albertan Songwriting Contest with her original song "Heaven in the Pines." The following year, she was nominated for the Canadian Country Music Association Discovery Award. Her song "I Can Make You Happy" was featured on Season 8 of the Canadian television series "Heartland." Sykamore's talent caught the attention of veteran songwriter Rhett Akins, leading to a publishing deal with Home Team Publishing in Nashville in 2017. In 2019, she became the first artist signed to Music Knox Records, a partnership between producer Michael Knox and Broken Bow Records/BMG. Her debut EP, "California King," was released in April 2020, showcasing a blend of country and pop influences. In August 2022, Sykamore independently released her first full-length album, "Pinto," which was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2023 Country Music Alberta Awards. Sykamore's songwriting combines intimate reflection with relatable storytelling, earning her recognition as a rising talent in the country music scene.
