My grandmother immigrated to the United States of America when she was 16-years-old. She came from Belfast, Ireland, in 1951. The trip was ruthless one train ride, one seven-day boat ride, one four-day bus ride, and one plane trip.  When she finally arrived in Santa Monica, California, she was moved to a public high school for a senior year when in Ireland, she went to a private all-girls catholic school. "The differences were immense," she said as she explained her compelling story to me.  As we dive into her life, we will uncover new things and a unique perspective of her life.
