"From Bitterness to Blessing"

from "Prayer Changes Everything" Devotion for Today · host Y.E.S. Jesus Youth Encountering Savior Jesus

24 September 2025  Daily Devotion: "From Bitterness to Blessing" Ruth 4:14 English Standard Version 14 Then the women said to Naomi, “Blessed be the Lord, who has not left you this day without a redeemer, and may his name be renowned in Israel! Can you think of a time when you experienced emptiness? Whether an empty seat at the table, an empty bank account, or an empty womb, emptiness can be devastating. The effects of experiencing it can make us unrecognizable to ourfriends (Job 2:12) and neighbors (Ruth 1:19). Naomi knew what it was like to be filled with good things, and she knew was it was like to be empty (Ruth 1:21). How is a person supposed to rejoice continuously while walking such a dark, lonely road? There is one promise that holds the key to joy in the midst of emptiness: that of a Redeemer. Whatever loss or emptiness we experience; we can rejoice knowing that God will restore to us whatever this world has taken (Joel 2:25). Trust Him to redeem it all and to fill in everyone of your empty places.
