From Borderline to Beautiful: Melanie's Story

from From Borderline to Beautiful: Hope and Help for BPD with Rose Skeeters, MA, LPC, PN2 · host Rose Skeeters

Borderline Personality Disorder is no longer considered a chronic illness. You can lead a great life with a sensitive, intense, hyperbolic... or any temperament for that matter with hard work, grit, endurance, tenacity, and the willingness to get uncomfortable. In this episode, we welcome Melanie to the show! Melanie has climbed many rungs on her ladder of recovery and wanted to share her story. Melanie has worked hard at honest self reflection, integrity, self discipline, truth and humility. She continues to show up each week ready to learn and grow. Melanie embodies the idea of moving from borderline to beautiful. Strength through adversity can absolutely be achieved. If you question an individual's ability to recover, or if you are a clinician questioning whether you should disclose the diagnose to your clients and their respective loved ones, listen to Melanie's story. There is hope! Thank you, Mel.  This week there is a new ad on the show. My very close friend, Cara, is needing help to raise money for the Hermanus Christian Academy in Africa. Her father has been an integral part of this school as a volunteer for many years. Unfortunately, South Africa has a 35% unemployment rate, making daily living difficult for refugees. The school provides a safe haven for over 115 children from refugee families. 100% of donations will be received by the school and will go towards underpaid teachers, school curriculum, and the increasing utility bills. (The water bill has increased by 500% over the past month!) If you are looking for a cause to support, please consider donating to this academy.
