From Cape York to New York: Shonae Hobson’s mission to protect Indigenous art

Shonae Hobson, a proud Southern Kaantju, Umpila, and Kuuku Ya’u woman from the remote community of Coen in Cape York Peninsula, is part of a groundbreaking new wave of First Nations leaders. She has been awarded a prestigious Roberta Sykes Scholarship through the Aurora Education Foundation to undertake a Master of Arts in Art Business at the world-renowned Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York.
