From Cuba to Gaza the Resistance stands Firm!

Proletarian TV | 2 August 2026 A brilliant and empassioned speech given by our dear comrade, Her Excellency Ismara Vargas-Walter, Cuban ambassador to the UK and Ireland, at our spirited celebration of the international anti imperialist struggle in Southall today. Our Chair Joti Brar gives an introduction to comrade Her Ismara, and makes some piercing observations in response. Ismara celebrates the 100th anniveraary of the birth of Fidel Castro, leader and inspirer of the Cuban Revolution, as well as the storming of the Moncada Barracks on 26th July 1953, that triggered the Revolution. Although that heroic assault on the fortress of US comprador Batista failed, it led to the trial of Fidel and his comrades, which Fidel turned into a tribunal of the reactionary and dictatorial regime. “History will absolve me!” Declared Fidel, at the conclusion of his epic speech of defence! And on January 1st 1959, the revolutionary forces led by Fidel, Raul and Che Guevara victoriously entered Havana, ushering in the rule of the Working People and the dawn ofa socialist era in Latin America. The US IMPERIALISTS HAVE NEVER FORGIVEN the people of Cuba for breaking free of their grip, and today desire to have their brothels, casinos, landed estates and latifundia, wage slaves, peasants, vassels, monopolies and sweat-shops restored to their corrupt and mafiosi-led grip. Despite the vindictive sanctions - intensified to fever pitch by this vindictive and unstable Trump regime - and the special economic measures that the Cubans have had to take to withstand those sanctions, Cuba stands firm, on the front line of the anti Imperialist struggle. We must all demand the lifting of the criminal US blockade and do all in our power to aid Cuba: the hope of the Latin American and Caribbean peoples, and a beacon pf humanity’s bright, humane, just and rational socialist future.
