From Darkness to Light

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Many people are searching for direction, unsure which way to go. Jesus said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Jesus doesn’t just point us to light. He is the light. Through His death on the cross for our sins, He made a way for us to step out of darkness and into new life. Following Christ doesn’t remove every challenge, but it gives us a sure guide and an eternal promise. When we place our trust in Him and Him alone, we can rest securely in this promise from Proverbs: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Today, let’s choose to trust and follow Jesus and look for opportunities to share the light of the Gospel with those around us.
