From Ground Zero to School Crossing Guard | Durham News

Lloyd Rendall, a former NYC firefighter turned school custodian and crossing guard in Raleigh, carries the enduring weight of 9/11—but channels it into purpose, kindness, and service. He witnessed Ground Zero’s devastation firsthand, losing friends like Father Mychal Judge and Deputy Chief Ray Downey, yet found strength in small acts of humanity that emerged from the tragedy. Now, he dedicates his life to honoring fallen heroes through events like the Tunnel to Towers 5k, supporting first responders and veterans, and inspiring kids to remember September 12th as a day of unity and compassion. His message? You can’t save everyone, but you can make a difference—one smile, one act of kindness at a time. Listen in comfort: Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
