As we were reminded in Part One of our study, all of us experience conflicts with others ... and don’t you dare argue with me about it! :-) So, the real issue has to do with resolving those conflicts and bringing about relational harmony. Now I think it would be accurate to say that, this side of Heaven, not all relational disunity will be resolved. Harmony won’t always triumph over hassle. The Apostle Paul notes this in Romans 12:18 when he writes, “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” Yes, peace in relationships is the goal, but even Paul admits that no one achieves it perfectly. However, if there is anyone who God has blessed with the ability to have a strong track record for living in relational harmony with others, well it is you and I as followers of Jesus. So how do we do it? That’s what we’ll keep learning in Part Two of Philippians 4:1-5. As we do, ask yourself, who are the folks in your life that you need to put these relational principles for peace into practice with?
