From Here To There, Part 4: My Relational Life

from Freedom Church

(Proverbs 29:18 NKJV)  “Where there is no vision, the people perish…” Questions to consider:  1.    Am I willing to change? (Matthew 18:3)  And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” 2.    Am I willing to put others first? (Mark 9:35)  “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.” 3.    Am I willing to let go of the past? (1 Corinthians 13:5)  “(Love)… keeps no record of wrongs.” (Colossians 3:13)  “Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.  Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” 4.    Am I willing to love as Jesus did? (John 13:34-35)  “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” My Relational Goals for 2010 How to Get There 1.  I will nurture my important relationships. (Galatians 5:13-15)  “Serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.” 2.  I will restore my broken relationships. (Romans 12:17-18)  “Do not repay anyone evil for evil…If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” 3.  I will sever any harmful relationships. (Proverbs 27:19 GN)  “A mirror reflects a man’s face but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses.” (1 Corinthians 15:33)  “Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character.” (Proverbs 13:20)  “He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.” (2 Corinthians 6:14)  “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?” 4.  I will initiate some meaningful relationships. (Ephesians 2:19 LB)  “...You are members of God’s very own family... and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.” (James 5:16)  “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” (Proverbs 18:24)  “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” RACHEL READS STORY (John 15:15)  “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends…” For more information on the vision of Freedom Church, please visit our website at www.freedom-church.org.
