Traci Medford-Rosow is an intellectual property attorney and USA Today bestselling author of four books. She lives and works in New York City. Melissa Plush, pen name Maggie Wright, is the co-author with Traci of the bestseller, Unsheltered Love: Homelessness, Hunger, and Hope in a City Under Siege and Chasing Light: Two Women, Their Mothers, and a Secret That Changed Their Lives. Maggie lives in Brooklyn with her partner and two beloved cats. What happens when life as we know it suddenly stops and we can no longer see ourselves, or anyone else, as we once did? This moment of awakening and recognition is what my guest Traci Medford-Rosow calls an “enlightenment portal.” A Manhattan attorney, Traci underwent a rapid spiritual awakening during the pandemic of 2020. She felt called to walk the streets of the empty city with her husband, reaching out to the homeless with care and compassion. But what she discovered, was beyond what she could have ever imagined. Traci bonded with Melissa, a woman whose opioid addiction had led her to live on street. Their connection, and the books they went on to write, are an inspirational story for anyone who feels they are a victim of circumstance, society, or culture. It teaches us that we all have the power to change and that our greatest strength lies in the connections we make with others.This episode is bittersweet because it may be my last.
