What this episode covers
In episode 321, I speak with coach, athlete, and soon to be author of multiple books, Alexander Richmond. Alex has a story and a half. Born in communist East Germany, he competed at the 1980 Moscow Olympics as a wrestler. Just as he stepped off the plane back in East Germany after the Olympics, expecting to be celebrated, he was taken away by the Stasi, and incarcerated for 18 months as a political prisoner. In his book 'Shadows on the Mat' he describes the torture and brutality he faced, and how was able to go from rage, to forgiveness to peace. This is an incredible story and message, not to be missed.
