FROM SELF-RULE TO SPIRIT-CONTROL

📖 Scripture “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” — Romans 8:14 Devotional Message One of the greatest transformations in the Christian life is moving from self-rule to Spirit-control. Before encountering Christ, many people live according to their own desires, opinions, ambitions, and understanding. They make decisions based on feelings, circumstances, or personal preferences. However, God's plan is for believers to be governed by the Holy Spirit. Self-rule places human wisdom on the throne. It says, "I know what is best for my life." Spirit-control, on the other hand, says, "Lord, Your will be done." It is the daily choice to submit every thought, desire, and decision to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. The challenge is that the flesh naturally seeks control. It wants independence, recognition, comfort, and immediate gratification. Yet the Holy Spirit leads us into God's higher purposes, even when the path requires patience, faith, and sacrifice. Jesus demonstrated perfect Spirit-control throughout His earthly ministry. He lived in complete dependence on the Father and moved according to divine instruction. Because He yielded Himself fully to God's will, He fulfilled His assignment and accomplished redemption for humanity. When the Holy Spirit takes control of our lives, He produces His fruit within us. Our reactions change. Our priorities shift. Our decisions become wiser. Fear gives way to faith, confusion to clarity, and selfishness to obedience. Spirit-control does not mean losing your identity; it means becoming the person God created you to be. The more you surrender to the Holy Spirit, the more His character is formed within you. Today, ask yourself who is truly leading your life. Is it your emotions, your ambitions, your fears, or the Holy Spirit? God's best is found in surrender. The pathway to victory is moving from self-rule to Spirit-control. Today, Ask Yourself What areas of my life am I still controlling instead of surrendering to the Holy Spirit? Prayer Almighty Father, I surrender every area of my life to You. Holy Spirit, take control of my thoughts, desires, decisions, and actions. Deliver me from self-will and help me to walk in complete obedience to Your leading. Let Your character be formed in me and Your purpose be fulfilled through me. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏🕊️✨
