From Setback To Comeback
from Victory Church Jbay · host Brent Martini
Life of Gideon: Judges 6For every setback there is an opportunity for a comeback! This means that what seems like a setback in our life, is actually a time for our comeback. In the life of Gideon we see five comeback principles (Judges 6). The first principle is that God will always confirm who He is (Judges 6:10), which is not based on our gifts, talents, or human wisdom, but on Him. Secondly, God will always affirm who you are. He will tell you what is right with you and not what is wrong with you and remind you of your destiny in Him. Our greatest barrier to our comeback will be that we don’t see ourselves as God sees us (Hero vs Zero). But, God looks at the potential in us just as He did with Gideon. Thirdly, He always reveals more of Himself in the process (Judges 6:17. Sometimes, we tend to look for signs but not for God Himself or His presence (Judges 6:18). Fourthly, every comeback requires a measure of sacrifice. What are you prepared to sacrifice or give up, lay down so that your comeback story can be written? (Judges 6:25). Lastly, God will always give us some unlikely strategy and tends to use the unlikely so that no man can get the credit. He wants us to step out in faith and walk out what He has said to us in obedience.
