From Shame to Freedom

from Linking Arms Hosted by Purposeful Living

*Trigger Warning - May contain sensitive content. * Shame tries to convince us that we are failures because of the mistakes we've made. We start to define ourselves by our missteps and shortcomings. In this episode our guest shares her experience with shame which led to her making poor decisions, and potentially endangering herself in the process. When we shift our perspective from what others think to our true identity, we are freed from the shackles of shame and are able to heal. When we have the courage to be vulnerable and authentic, we also make space for others to share thier stories, and know that they are not alone. We are encouraged to meditate on what is true rue, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy, in order to shift our perspectives from shame and instead embrace the freedom we deserve (see Philippians 4:8).
