From sit to bloom - How meditation transformed Tom Gubbini’s life and career path

from Bloom with a Boom! Grounded by daily practice. · host Rebecca Schlosser

In this episode we’re chatting withTom Gubbini,  a wellness coach who transformed his stressful lifestyle into one of self-awareness and better habits through meditation, mindful practice and energy work.  This inner shift redirected his outer course from a high paced corporate environment to a more purposeful career helping people revitalize their health. Tom leads us on a journey where one candle sparked another - a chance encounter at the gym introduced him to “The Power of Now,” a book that significantly shifted his perspective.  He subsequently discovered the energetic magic of reiki, daily meditation and other wellness practices that not only brought peace and clarity, but better nutritional habits and a significant shift in his health as a result. Here are my favorite takeaways from this episode: When we begin a meditation or any other mindful practice, consistency is key - doing the practice over a period of time helps us develop a habit and maintain long-term benefits.  Consistent daily practice changes our physiology both consciously and subtly.  Our feelings are our emotional guidance system. They're little messengers that tell us something is up.  Mindful practices bring more awareness to our feelings instead of covering them up with food, work or outside distractions, which just makes us more disconnected from our feelings.  Food and nutrition is so important. It's also such a personal journey. Mindful practices help us build a more conscious relationship with food,  especially if we suffer from health problems or grew up in a family culture that taught us to rely on food for comfort.  When we begin our own wellness journey, we can't help wanting to change other people's lives in addition to our own. This is why so many of us become coaches or educators, the healing and the awareness it's meant to be shared and a greater purpose to our life is revealed. This is why the internal work always.
