from iBuild America Podcast · host iBuild America Podcast
John BonesFounder and Executive Director TEAM UP Academy (Michigan)John J. Bones is the Visionary Entrepreneur, Founder and Executive Director of Team Up Academy (TUA) and JJB Sales, LLC. His career has centered on creating programs and opportunities that improve lives and strengthen communities!Early in his own life, he was inspired by the strong work ethics and role models of those who worked in the automotive industry. That influence served to form John's life mission and he continues to dedicate his energies to his profession and neighboring communities.Several years ago, John saw a great demand for trained entry-level staff who would be capable of meeting the needs of the industrial labor force. The pattern he observed over and over again was that temporary employment agencies would hire workers and send them to an industrial customer. The workers, lacking the necessary training or aptitude to be successful in the position, would become frustrated and often would not return to their job after the lunch break or for the next day's work. The major reason for failure, is that workers were not set up to succeed. New trainees need support before, during, and after training and into their employment journey. As a result, John created Team Up Academy to fill the gap. The organization offers a 30-day industrial entry-level training program that will support the candidates who become skilled at their training facility. In addition to the necessary trainings to be successful on the job, candidates will receive transportation, child care, mentoring, and guidance counseling support. Upon graduation of the program, candidates become ambassadors and will receive a formal offer of employment with one of our client partners. Students then move into a Step Up program, which offers advanced industrial training, and they have an opportunity to mentor incoming candidates, further enhancing the team.John believes that this type of collaborative workforce initiative not only helps the individuals succeed in their careers, but also helps the companies build a strong workforce, helps the individual’s family, and creates a strong thriving community.LinkedIn Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-j-bones-658b5a23/Website: https://teamupacademy.org/
