Peter A. Levine, Ph.D. is the originator and developer of Somatic Experiencing® and the Director of Somatic Experiencing® International.Dr. Levine holds doctorate degrees in Medical Biophysics and in Psychology, and during his thirty five-year study of stress and trauma, has contributed to a variety of scientific and popular publications.Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Levine has received Lifetime Achievement awards from Psychotherapy Networker, the US Association for Body-Oriented Psychotherapy, and the Association for Training on Trauma and Attachment in Children. He served as a Stress consultant for NASA in the early space shuttle development.
