From the U.S. Navy to the Cancer Action Network with LaTina Starling

Today's guest is LaTina Starling, diagnosed with Stage III Breast Cancer at age 29 while serving in the U.S. Navy. After her treatment, she transitioned from military to civilian life and found a way to help others with advocacy.Starting as a volunteer advocate and then given the opportunity to work full-time at the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), LaTina works with volunteers to share their stories and educated lawmakers on policies that help reduce the cancer burden for everyone. She also remains active in the veteran community, supporting fellow veterans in their post-military lives.We talk about the struggles working while navigating treatment, advocacy through personal stories, building relationships with lawmakers, healing to help others, and so much more!
