From the Vault: Five Things We Should Stop Saying to Alcoholics | RecoverED

In this episode of RecoverED, we discuss 5 things well-meaning people often say to alcoholics and why saying these things can actually be harmful. We take these phrases and compare them to what the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous says and how they are in direct conflict to the curriculum we teach and the solution we have found. These 5 phrases are: 1. Play the tape through./ Remember the consequences. 2. Just don't drink no matter what. 3. Do it for your kids. 4. Wait a year before you sponsor. 5. You have to really want it./ They must have not wanted it bad enough.
