From Tropic Thunder to Tender Moments: Movie Actor Steve Coogan Unfiltered on his New Movie, 'The Penguin Lessons'

He’s been Stan Laurel. He’s been Alan Partridge. He’s even been a doomed director in Tropic Thunder. But in The Penguin Lessons, Steve Coogan brings something entirely new to the screen—heart, quiet transformation, and, yes… an actual penguin. In this episode of Up+Adam, Adam Montiel sits down with the Oscar-nominated actor, writer, and comedian to talk about his latest role in the buzz-worthy new dramedy The Penguin Lessons, hitting theaters March 28th. Based on a true story and set during Argentina’s 1976 political crisis, the film follows a disillusioned teacher who rescues an oil-slicked penguin—only to find that this unlikely bond forces him to confront his past and reawaken his sense of purpose.Steve opens up about the emotional depth of the character, what surprised him most about acting opposite a penguin, and even dives into fan theories around his explosive cameo in Tropic Thunder. It’s witty, thoughtful, and full of those “Wow, great question” moments you expect from Up+Adam.Watch the trailer for The Penguin Lessons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdjEXNX1nSAThe Penguin Lessons hits theaters nationwide on Friday March 28.Stay connected with Steve Coogan:Steve Coogan on IMDb********BEATS & BRASS: AT RIATA RANCH SUPPORTING MUSIC EDUCATION AT SLO HIGH AND LAGUNA MIDDLE SCHOOL. Connect with SLO High School Band:Website: SLO Tiger BandInstagram: @SLOIMBA *******Listen to Up+Adam with Adam Montiel:Official Website: adammontiel.comApple Podcasts: Up+Adam on Apple PodcastsSpotify: Up+Adam on SpotifyiHeartRadio: Up+Adam on iHeartRadioYouTube Music: Up+Adam on YouTube Music********Moonshiner Collective – Live Performance 3/29Moonshiner Collective, the band behind the Up & Adam theme song “Start Again”, will be performing live at Rod & Hammer’s SLO Stills on March 29.Tickets and event info: MoonshinerCollective.com********CHECK OUT OUR WOODS HUMANE PET OF THE WEEK!********ADAM’S TEDX VIDEO IS HERE!********FOLLOW ADAM ON INSTAGRAM*********Sincere Thanks to the supporters of Up + Adam.
