Jason Hunter Fruitful Christians in a day of famine Christians are not to be: Not to be afraid, worried or selfish We don’t live by not doing things.  Need to consider replace the things in our lives we don’t want there. How to replace those things that don’t shine our light brightly for Christ.  To bring God the Glory. Gratitude was one attribute I mentioned last week. John 15:5 – 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. Disaster – the economy is tanking – great time for the Christians to be fruitful   Galatians 5 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Characteristics of a single fruit – consider the watermelon round green red has seeds is soft sweet – descriptions of one fruit. Christians should have all the fruits of the spirit. Bible is about context – exercise those principles – how to display the fruit of the spirit at this time. Love – produced by the Holy Spirit in their life – a) continue being the church in our faith- keep assembling together b) contact phone calls emails texts mailing. Go to someone else’s and blow the horn.  We do well – call others – call your neighbors – call someone you never called before. Let them know you care about them.  Share the love. C) Considerations of grace – be gracious to people. Because people are afraid. Many of them have no hope beyond this world.  Let’s share the love of God with them.  Be a good listener – just listen and love on them Joy – descriptive to those connected to the living vine – consciously look for – mined dug out – like gold mining. a) Look at things from God’s perspective – He is seeing his children 1 Peter 1:7 James 1:2-4 this time God is looking down as we go through a testing time.  I am joyous seeing that you are passing this test well.  You have joy and peace and passing it on b) He is also looking at the world) Matthew 9:35-38 Fruitful time of harvest – sharing the Gospel to those who need to hear it.  That He is involved and active.  It brings me joy to know that He has a plan according to His good and perfect will.  Find someone to serve during this time.  There is always joy when you care for and serve someone else. Do things that impact eternity.  What can I do to impact my own eternity – read bible encourage another in their reading or share the Gospel. Do something that lasts forever.  Crisis evaluate what truly has value.  Invest yourself in those things. Spend time well. Peace – John 14:27- Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.  Two types of peace Peace that is absence of war - Colossians 1:19-20 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.1 Timothy 2:5- For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, Romans 5:1 - Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. This is most important peace there is.  Peace agreement between us and God.  This is the peace that conquers all fear. Surrender to Jesus – way to surrender to this peace. If you want this peace, simply talk to Jesus – I surrender Lord Jesus – I believe in you, I am done fighting and rebelling against God – Jesus forgive me and he will Peace - Sense of security – All things people put in this world for security is an
