Jason Allen is the head football coach at Chambers Academy in Lafayette, Alabama. In the podcast, you will hear us pronounce the town's name, and yes, we are saying it right. It is pronounced Luh-FAY-et in East Central Alabama. Chambers Academy is a small private school in east-central Alabama, about 30 miles from Auburn University. Coach Allen is not only the team's head coach but also runs its offense. The team has won three state titles since 2018 and 100 of its last 115 games. Allen has been at the school for 20 years, and they have won 87% of their games. This episode really gets into the Xs and Os of Coach Allen's offense, which is rooted in the Delaware Wing-T but has evolved over the years to something quite remarkable and explosive. They build their offense around the Gap-Down-Backer blocking scheme and take the Power and Counter to another level. Coach Allen talks about how they start teaching their kids the system as early as the fourth grade at the small K-12 school, and the kids grow up believing in the system.
