FTNCI 049: Why Christians Can Benefit from Ayn Rand

Can Christians actually benefit from Ayn Rand? Is it worth it to take the time to understand Ayn Rand’s philosophy? “To reject truth because a pagan discovered it is not to reject the pagan, but to reject the God whose natural light is shed upon all men indiscriminately.” That is a thought posted by Josh Sommer on Twitter recently. He is referring to the value of Aristotle for Christians. I appreciate his statement, and it likewise applies to philosophical principles discovered or explained by Ayn Rand. Since late last year, we have been meeting Saturday mornings at 9am Eastern recording book discussions on the system of thought of Ayn Rand. We’ve done a series of 9 sessions on A New Textbook of Americanism: The Politics of Ayn Rand. And now we are recording 34 sessions on another book Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand.
