This chapter was about relationship styles; when they clash and the need for compromise. Questions / topics raised by the panel for discussion include:- 1)Susan and Paul decide to go on a weekend getaway. They have the option of 2 rooms - one with a spectacular view but 2 single beds, the other with a queen size bed but not quite the same view. Which would you prefer and how would you compromise with your partner? 2) From following the book Attached via the podcast thus far, has your opinion changed on:- A) The outlook you had on a past relationship? B) Scenarios Which have come up in current or previous relationship? 3)In the book Attached, Henry and Georgia were a couple constantly quarrelling. Henry was avoidant, Georgia anxious. Georgia's anxiety would arise when Henry failed to return her calls due to his busy schedule. Henry thought she was calling unnecessarily. A solution was that Henry would send her a pre-written text message every time he thought about her which would help to calm down Georgia's anxieties. Do you think sending a pre-written text means there's no real effort being made to communicate with a partner? Is it a smokescreen? 4) Creating true security in the relationship and recognising that you are emotionally dependent on your partner on every level is the best way to improve your romantic bond. What is your take on this statement? 5) How long down the road in a relationship do you wait before you seek help or call it a day? 6)IS there anything you won't change about yourself in a relationship for the sake of the relationship? What is it and why won't you change?
