This morning I woke to a lizard above my head (on the pillow), it was watching me as I rolled over and gazed into its eyes. It crawled up my arm and into my hair. I wondered if he had been there all this time? “Damn good address for a rat...” he muttered. The milk passed through the homogenizer. As a boy I memorized these mornings well, the hum as my vision polestarred.
