Happy Black History Month! Every year on Prison Radio Show we celebrate black history month. Today we remember black Canadians who have been killed by police and in prison. We shine light on several incredible Black women including the Honourable Jean Augustine who did many great things and notably worked to have Black History Month officially recognized in so called Canada. Our feature interview is with Ayo Ogunremi, a McGill student who is Vice-President of External Affairs of Student Society McGill University SSMU, who worked to get an abolitionist motion passed at McGill. We discuss McGill's newly adopted 'position on institutions of public safety' and the possibility of other campuses following suit with Ayo.
