Transcript Hour 1 Charlie James: I would like to know, what are your—I mean, when you're looking for somebody who is going to run for the Senate here in South Carolina, because again, filing starts tomorrow. What are you looking for? What are your must-haves? My must-haves right now are: Do you support the Save America Act 100%? And would you go as far as voting to do away with the filibuster in order to achieve that goal? That's what I want to know. Because if you literally look at the least—and I mean this—if you look at the least effective branch of government that we have, it's the legislative branch. The executive branch—Trump, JD Vance—they're doing their job. Supreme Court, for the most part, doing their job, although Amy Coney Barrett is very afraid right now. The legislative branch of this government, specifically the Senate, is failing us. So what I want to know is, what happened in that conversation between Darline Graham and Donald Trump to have him—because we had already heard, this is what we heard, everybody was talking about it—it was the name Russell Fry. That was going to be the man that Donald Trump endorsed to become the next Senator of South Carolina. Then all of a sudden, after one meeting with Darline Graham in the Oval Office, Trump comes out and says, "You're my girl. You're the one." I would love to have been a fly on the wall. Because remember, nothing—nothing in Washington gets done without something in return. That's just the way it is. Like it or not. You do me a favor—I mean, just look at Henry McMaster in the Pam Evette endorsement. And what probably, if we haven't jumped all over this, what would have probably been Pamela Evette's picking of Henry McMaster Jr. to be Lieutenant Governor. Because this station and some others, they were like, "No, that's not going to happen." That fell through. Thankfully, we didn't have to worry about that. But what was the deal? You know, here's President Trump, Art of the Deal. I'd like to know. I'd like to know what the deal was. "Charlie, Ad Company put up a billboard. Lynch bought space on time." Yeah, I know. I was going to—somebody was complaining about one of Lynch's billboards. Listen, those things are bought. You buy them, you put them up for a month, two months, three months, whatever it is. You can't just—you know when they change that sign? When somebody else buys it, when the contract is up and somebody else buys it. Let's see. "Charlie, there's a decent top two. I got to say taking money from Israel or taking a free trip." I don't even know what you're talking about. "Pro-life and Freedom Caucus." Oh, the top two. I got it. I got it. "Charlie, the top two... taking money from Israel or taking the free trip?" I don't know about that. "Charlie, pro-life and Freedom Caucus type candidates, those are what will ensure the support for Save America Act." Yeah, maybe right. Maybe right. I just want a good—I want a good, solid conservative. But the question is, is Darline Graham a good, solid conservative? She issued—she put out a statement. Let me see, I got this—I saved it, actually. Let me put out—she wrote a letter. It's kind of like a letter to South Carolina. And I want you to listen to what she says. Here we go. I have it for you in just a second. Let's see: "I am not Lindsey. I have my own way of doing things, but we were raised with the same values: work hard each day, trust in the Lord, remember your roots, and never forget who you work for. That's why I've spent my career helping South Carolinians with disabilities find employment and live independently." But I want to know. We know nothing about you. That's basically the only thing she's put out so far. This is—and yes, somebody asked me a question a few minutes ago. They were like, "Listen, if the executive committee gives her this waiver because she does not meet the rule requirements set forth by the South Carolina GOP, will this be a coronation?"
