Transcript Hour 1 Charlie James: And welcome to the program on your Tuesday afternoon! Glad to have you along with us. And we're going to start the program off today with a little station information. We got the news today—now I got to kind of preface this just a little bit by saying I have no idea when this is going to happen. I don't know the date, I don't know the hour, but coming up sometime in the next couple of months, you will be able to access News Talk 98.9 WORD on SiriusXM Radio. How about that? There you go. Yep, everybody in the lineup going to be on SiriusXM, as well as all of the other platforms. You know, we got the Audacy app, we've got iHeartRadio, of course over-the-air streaming online—I'm streaming right now all over the place. So yes, coming up a little bit in a couple of months, I would imagine, but sometime in the near future, you will be able to access WORD on your SiriusXM satellite radio as you're out traveling about your business. So that's very good news, very interesting news there, so pretty happy about that. All right, again, welcome to the program. It is filing day for the Senate seat, for Lindsey Graham's Senate seat, and we're going to be talking about Darline Graham a little bit today because a lot of people out there are saying she's got no experience. She's got no experience! Well... does she? She actually has some government experience. We're going to lay that out for you and let you know exactly what's going on with that. But it is filing day. We don't know if anybody made it to Columbia, paid the—I think it's something like $40,000 for the Senate seat here in South Carolina. We don't know who, if anybody, has actually filed today, because usually they have their picture taken—there's a cheesy little poster when you go to the Election Commission that says "I Filed" with a state flag and all of that, and they always give the thumbs up. Is it still time for me to go, John? Still time to make it to Columbia by closing time? Well, we'll see. Here's what we know: Businessman Mark Lynch is going to be running. We know that Ralph Norman is going to be running. We know that Darline Graham is going to be running. Duke Buckner, who ran against Jim Clyburn at one time, indicated that he was going to be running. But see, here's the thing though: You can get up there and say "I'm going to run" all you want to, but it doesn't count until you sign that check. And once you realize that you're committing $40,000 to this campaign, a lot of times people back out on something like that. So we will see what happens. Now, Ralph Norman has gotten an endorsement from Nancy Mace in this race, he's also gotten endorsements from several law enforcement sheriffs throughout the Upstate. I know that Hobart Lewis has endorsed Ralph Norman for this seat. So very, very interesting. "Charlie, the arrogance of Lindsey Graham's sister to say that she's got to run because nobody else can continue his legacy has got to be the most arrogant thing I've ever heard anybody say." Well, here's the thing though: Is that a legacy you want to continue? That's what I want to know. "Charlie, the fact that she was put in that position as a placeholder and later decided to run because her brother's legacy couldn't end tells me everything I need to know about her." That's pretty amazing. "Charlie, I'm fired up about Lindsey Graham's sister. This is corruption at its finest." Let's go to Matt in Greenville. Matt, welcome. Matt: Hey Charlie. Charlie James: Hey bud. Matt: Charlie, I'm going to vote for Ralph Norman, and I'm going to go on the radio right now and tell everybody that Lindsey Graham's sister is going to win. Charlie James: You might be right. Matt: If I owned the farm, I'd bet it. Charlie James: You know what? That wouldn't be a bad bet.
