A Sligo councillor is calling for a fully resourced Early Intervention Youth Mental Health Centre for the region.  Cllr Edel McSharry says Sligo-Leitrim is one of the few areas without a dedicated service like Jigsaw or Mindspace.  She says the current limited model is not enough to meet rising demand, and wants direct referral access for GPs, schools and families.  Speaking to Ocean FM News, Cllr Edel McSharry says young people need timely, community-based supports  not long CAMHS waiting lists.
