You know how I've told you about picking up little tiny things, little tiny things from big things and going with it. That happened today. I was listening to Norm McInerney's podcast and she has two of them, but the one I was listening to, it's going to be okay. Oh, I love that podcast.
I'm going to steal something from it today. Sorry, Nora. I'm stealing from you. Not really.
I mean, just a little bit. I listened to the podcast today, Lindsey Rush, who is the author of books and is a poet and is funny as hell, hosted the podcast today. She did five minutes about stuff. And you know what?
It was really cool. There was one little tiny sentence that she said that I don't remember. I'm sitting here right now. Short-term memory just sucks.
But the one thing that she said that I wrote down in my little book that I just bought that I'm telling you about, my little planner, I soon as I heard that I grabbed my pen, I grabbed the book and I wrote this down on today's date. And today's date as I'm recording this is 919 2024. She said, fun is never a waste of time. Holy cow, everything that she said, this is the only thing I remember.
And it is the most important thing that I heard. Fun is never a waste of time. Yeah. How cool is that?
If I may now steal another scene from another podcaster named Dan Monroe. How cool is that? But it is so cool that if you think about it, if you're having fun, it's not a waste of time. When I'm visiting with my seven-year-old granddaughter, who does not talk?
OK, she does not talk. And she talks a little bit. I can get her to talk it. Well, she says, bye-bye.
And if I go over there, she goes, hi. She'll look at me. She moves her head and she sticks the arm up. Head goes one way, the arm goes the other.
And she goes, hi, never. Hi, Papa, just hi. And then when I'm leaving, it's bye-bye or when she wants me to leave, it's bye-bye. But I can get her to talk.
And when I do that, it's fun. And it is so I use sign language. I'll stick my finger up to my eye and go, I, and she does the same thing because she knows because she goes to speech therapy and she goes, I, and she knows what's coming. She, and she's smart as hell.
And I say, and then I put my arms and I go, love, and she goes, love, and she knows what's coming back because I point to her and she goes, oh, yes, that is so good. And that just makes me so happy and that is so fun and that is never a waste of time. All right, it is never a waste of time. I like to do fun things.
I like to talk into this microphone. I have a lot of fun with that. I like working somebody texted me. Oh, what is it?
Oh, Zach just texted me and said, we got, he's in the other room. He said, we got a pizza. We got some for you. Thank you, Zach, very nice.
I mean, Zach, I'm recording a podcast. I hope that didn't ruin your podcast. No, it didn't. But anyway, I have fun with Zach, especially when he texts me when I'm doing the podcast, wait till years later, anyhow, that's what I do.
I try to have fun all the time. I have a lot of fun with Zach, Zach and I go, we'll go out and, you know, we'll out seeing clients and stuff and we just have fun. No matter what it is, we have fun. He takes weird pictures of strange things.
I saw something today that I really liked and I'm driving. I said, would you take a picture and that? He takes a picture and he sends it to me. And the picture is of an eye and then there's a bee underneath the eye that was super in post.
It's a painting, actually. It was a, it was on a, on some kind of utility box. Just look cool. I wanted it.
He did it. We had fun because fun is never a waste of time. So that's my message for today. I want you to always have fun.
I want you to do things that make your hearts sing. I'm going to, when I'm done here, I'm going to be working here in the studio. You know why? I'm going to tell you, I'm a procrastinator.
I have all this acoustic pile there, my cat, my youngest cat, who is a plague upon my innocence to the greatest spirit of my ugly life. Sometimes she ripped off one of my acoustic tiles. She did this like two months ago, maybe three months ago. It's laying on the floor right over there.
I've got nails, I've got a hammer. There's hammer right there. I've got nails. I'm going to put it back and then after I'm done with that, after I'm done with that, I have another table I'm going to bring in here and put against that wall.
And I'm going to move the computer from my bedroom into here and I'm going to hook up my brand new Canon printer because I have to print stuff every day. And my other, what's that, gosh, and I have to print stuff every day. So I'm going to hook that up to the one I had before, which was another Canon printer that I had for six years, croaked, just croaked, no bringing it back. I got out the paddles.
I did all of that, it croaked and I've thrown that out and sex girlfriend's going to want me to recycle it, which he's not looking. I'm going to take it and throw it in the trash can because I don't know how to recycle. So I guess there's a place, there's someplace around here where you can go and do that sort of thing, but that doesn't sound like a fun thing to do. And today's podcast is about having fun because it's Friday.
Oh, I forgot for Paul to say that. Good morning, American. It's Friday. That's right.
