HOW DO YOU LISTEN?● In ordinary listening, we hear the words -- AND often start with:○ Where do I agree and where do i disagre?○ What do I say in response?○ The focus is on US!!!!!● In genuine listening, the spotlight is on others.○ We listen not for what’s being said...but what is not being said and what is behind the words.○ The feelings, emotions, and needs.○ Hear the human being behind the words and the deepest need.JESUS IS THE WORLD’S BEST COMMUNICATOR BECAUSE:● He is a world-class listener.● He asks lots of questions.● He is engaged and present in conversations.Question To Ponder:Jesus would often echo their conversation back to the people He spoke with to let them know they were heard. How can you better utilize these strategies in your everyday life?
