Funeral parlous in the Eastern Cape are struggling to keep up with the demand for coffins as the number of Covid related deaths continues to rise amid the second wave. The new, more infectious variant of coronavirus is driving the second wave of the pandemic. The Eastern Cape now accounts for over 50 percent of new Covid 19 related deaths, and funeral parlours in the province are running out of coffins.We spoke to the secretary of National Funeral Practitioners of South Africa, Odwa Duru.
