I always try my best to bring a wide selection of music from across the years on my show. That said, I'm getting more and more opportunity to play brand new stuff, which I think is great. So in this episode, alongside a couple of oldies I also bring you brand spanking new music from Mark Whites, Hotmood and Le Babar, forthcoming on Seesaw, Discoweey and Sundries. In hour 2 I welcome Collective Groove, who have put together a wonderful exclusive guest mix for the show. Collective Groove are a musical movement from London & the South East of England who hit the scene as a collective earlier this year. The group consist of 3 close friends, DJ’s Pete and Charlie along with Bobby who although not a DJ, brings with him a rich and knowledgeable musical history. The trio run 3 series on their Soundcloud covering Disco, House and Deep House/Deep Tech. They also have a growing guest mix series providing a platform for both new and well established artists alike. Their guest mix for Funkier Radio draws heavy inspiration from their 'That Disco Groove' series. Keen to provide multiple interpretations of groove, the diverse selection includes notorious boogie jams, electro laced funk, wordwide latin & afro disco along with some artists who have heavily influenced their journey through music such as Jamiroquai and Dave Lee (fka Joey Negro).
