This episode is the very first radio show with my brand new DJ setup, so do excuse a few little (and one or two not so little) slip ups along the way. It’s the usual ride through the BPMs, starting off quick, dropping right down then cranking things back upwards again. We’ve got funk classics, some silky disco, thick and sticky funk, a good few edits, something new from myself and a righteous gospel stomper to finish the first hour. In hour two I hand the controls over to Berlin-based DJ and visual artist SSABES. He got in touch with me a little while back, I checked out some of his mixes on Soundcloud, loved them, and now he’s done a mix for Funkier Radio! It’s an excellent one too, blending the well known with hidden gems across disco, house and a variety of genres to create something quite unique.
